25,000 Riffpoints Weekly Open League
The Weekly Open League is a weekly long league. The goal of the League is to get as high “league score” as possible. The top players will be rewarded with prizes. There is no limit to how many matches you may play during the leagues duration. Players are required to have played a minimum of 15 matches to be eligible for rewards.
In addition to Riffpoints, the 1st prize is a $20 giftcard for the Nintendo shop
How to compete:
- Click “Play Match” (only available when the league is “ongoing” and during the open hours every day)
- You will shortly be matched with an opponent and a match lobby will be created. The leftmost player in each lobby will be considered the HOST.
- After ALL games have been played and the match is completed, report the outcome of the match and your League score will be updated.
- Track your progress in the “League” tab.
- Make sure to take ingame screenshots of all game results in case of a dispute or being requested by an admin.

Once the arena has been created, the HOST must send its ID and password to their opponent (designated as GUEST).
They can be found in the arena settings once it has been created.
Pre-Match Procedure (picks & bans)
A pre-match procedure is established as follows in order to select each round’s map.
1) Players pick a character.
2) The player designated as HOST bans 1 map from the Starter Stages list.
3) The GUEST player bans 2 maps from the Starter Stages list.
4) The HOST player then chooses among the 2 remaining maps available from the Starter Stages list.
5) The match is played.
6) The winner bans 2 maps from the entire stage list (Starter & Counterpick)
7) The loser picks the map for the subsequent match from the entire stage list (Starter & Counterpick).
You must then restart the same procedure from point 6 onwards until one of the players wins 2 rounds. (Reminder: matches are to be played in Best of 3).
Joining the Arena
To join the arena, you must go to “Join Arena” then “Enter Arena ID”, and enter the logs the host has given you in the chat box.
Specifics and Restrictions
This tournament’s matches are to be played in the online mode.
All characters are allowed.
Matches are to be played in Best of 3 (Bo3). The first player to accumulate 2 wins is claimed the victor of the match.
Sudden Death/Time Up
If a Time Up occurs, the player with the most stocks/lives wins.
If both players have an equal amount of stocks, the player with the lowest percentage counter wins.
If both the stocks and percentages are equal between both players, or if there has been a simultaneous death, a REMATCH with 1 stock and 3 minutes is to be played with the same characters and stage.
If the percentages are even or if there has been a simultaneous death during the REMATCH, the sudden death is played.
If a match ends with a suicide attack (Bowsercide, Ganoncide, etc.) the winner is the one designated by the result screen.
Participants are strongly advised to play on a stable connection (an ethernet adapter is advised). If a player is reported as one having a defective connection (and the claim is supported by video proofs) too often they may be disqualified, or even forbidden to participate any further events according to the decision of the staff.
League score system
Terms & Conditions
Standard Terms and conditions apply
If there are ties in league score at the end of the league, win rate will be used as first tie breaker and global ranking score as second to decide the tied positions. If there are still ties after both of these factors have been used, decider matches may be issued.
Being abusive by spamming, harassing, threatening or insulting other players in chat on Battleriff or ingame is not a tolerated behaviour and will result in (but is not limited to) the following: warnings, deduction of riffpoints, deduction of league points, getting banned. If you encounter any breach of these rules while taking part in Battleriff matches, take screenshots and contact an admin.
You are responsible for all the actions taken on your account and only you are allowed to play on your account
Abusing different glitches, cheats or non intended bugs in-game will disqualify you instantly
Suspicious player patterns will be investigated and any evidence of abuse such as (but not limited to) win trading, multiple accounts, ghost accounts or match manipulation will disqualify you instantly and can result in a permanent ban
We reserve all the rights to amend the rules and/or structure of the event at our sole discretion. In the unlikely case of a dispute, we reserve the right to interpret the rules at our sole discretion. Any decisions taken by management in this regard are final.
